Info on Proposition 1 (Bond Transit Proposal)

The Statesman had an article on Monday on Proposition 1, the City of Austin’s proposed $90 million transportation bond issue which includes money for roads, the Lady Bird Lake trail, bike lanes, and sidewalks. Prop 1 is a modest step in the right direction for a progressive city with a mobility and traffic congestion problem. No single bond proposal is going to “fix” all traffic problems, but Prop 1 combines the right mix of new roads, ADA compliant sidewalks, better bike paths and safer urban trails. We need choices, not just roads. Vote for Prop 1 on Nov 2.
